Unconventional use but still great!
I take medication for chronic pain and I would often forget what time I took my last dose especially on my really bad days. I ordered these so I could take my meds and then set the clock to the time I took them. This is working out really well for me. I keep one on the counter with my pills and the others are placed around the house in the spots I frequent most often. That saves me the trouble of hobbling all the way to my room only to realize I have 2 more hours until I can take another. The little stand piece is a nice addition since they can be placed just about anywhere. It isn't meant to be permanently attached so it kept falling off which I remedied with a little scotch tape. Great for my purpose but I can see how they would work well for teaching little ones how to tell time the old fashioned way too!
hour hand moves realistically
My 9 year old was having trouble with telling time. He and his six year old brother are experts after 20 minutes with these clocks. You do have to be gentle with the hour hand. The minute hand moves in a very realistic way and by spinning it the hour hand moves along with it. It is well marked and perfect for small hands to move when you tell them to make the clock say a specific time. Really helping us master this skill in our house!
