Don't buy cheap if you are concerned about safe guarding ...
There was outage for a few minutes one evening. All items that were connected to it were well protected.
Good
It is well-placed and allows for a lot of plugs. It worked well, although I used the two holes provided. It is very large and requires additional mounting.
Beautiful unit, versatile, but not good for ethernet.
I bought two of these, not only because of the high joules rating at 4200, but also for the multi-type connections, all of which were requirements in my needs list when shopping for a unit. In my final decision to purchase the DESURGE unit, I considered the beautiful high gloss black finish which is complimentary to my stereo, tv, and computer equipment. Most other units are industrial looking and basically ****. I needed all of the connections offered. I'm currently using eight of the twelve AC plugs, plus one of the usb ports, and the coaxial cable connection. My only reason for not giving a five star rating is the disappointing results from the ethernet connection. I pay for and receive over 600 mbps from my internet provider, however, that performance dropped to around 90 mbps when I connected to the ethernet ports. This is not acceptable. I tested it three times after connecting using speedtest.net (ookla), then I bypassed the DESURGE unit and plugged directly into my docking port as I had it before. I was instantly back to over 600 mbps. I also tested this performance three times. I purchased two of these units with the 15 ft cord (which is very useful) and would purchase another, however, I would not recommend it if ethernet protection is important because of the unacceptable and tremendous downgrading of the internet signal strength.
